"I'm living my
dream," responds Page happily,
when anyone asks about her
career as a Realtor. "It's just
like the time my niece Peyton
walked int o a gourmet candy
store and asked, 'Mama, am I
dreaming?' I feel that way each
and every day."
Page has always
been motivated to help others.
A resident of Columbia since
1965, Page grew up in the
southeast and graduated from
Dreher High School. She
followed in her Mother's
footsteps to become a registered
nurse. While studying nursing
at the University of South
Carolina, she found time to help
others as a Resident Advisor and
Assistant Residence Hall
Director for the Department of
Student Housing.
Page has always
had close ties to the
community. She was quite active
at Shandon United Methodist
Church as a youth leader,
attending mission projects and
serving as a youth
representative to the Council on
Ministries and Administrative
Council. During college, she
served as a counselor for the
Methodist Youth Fellowship. She
spent summers working for
Richland County Parks &
Recreation, first as an umpire
for youth and adult league
softball. Later, she became the
assistant park director for
Emily Douglas Park in Shandon.
As a critical
care nurse in the coronary care
unit, recovery room, and later
traveling as an educator for a
medical equipment company, Page
found herself torn between two
competing interests. "I loved
nursing. It was very
rewarding. But I kept telling
myself, ‘someday, when I retire
from this, I’m going into real
estate.'"
Just how did this
passion for real estate begin?
It was when she purchased her
first home. "I became hooked in
1990 while looking for my first
home. After going through the
process myself, learning some
things the hard way, I couldn’t
resist h elping my friends in
their search for the right
house." Her friends encouraged
Page to follow her heart, and
today Page is in her dream job.
"I’ve always known that someday
I would do this full time."
"Columbia is a
great place to be - it's the
only home I've ever really
known," says Page, encouraging
others to join her in this
growing city. Do you have
